Baby shower time!

It just seems to be that time of year when it's one baby shower after the next. So I thought we at Picobello Events will add in with some help and tips on how to throw an amazing baby shower!

First...
Have lots of food!
Yes, women eat less than men, but we have catered many a baby shower where the food starts to run low as it was just suppose to be "finger foods" or just "tea and cake". The truth is baby showers go on for a few hours, so people get hungry- be prepared for that! Plan a menu that has some good stomach fillers, like a wrap platter or mini panini platter.

Second...
Try keep  the games short and interesting. There is nothing worse than baby games that go on and on. They loose their appeal quickly- so be sure to keep things moving, keep the prizes coming and keep everyone's attention. You shouldn't do more than 5 games, even that is pushing it.
There are lots of websites with baby shower games and even with printable games.

Third...
Have a nappy raffle.
We love this idea as it's a great way to stock up on nappies for the new baby as well as for someone to win an amazing prize. Nappies are expensive, so please make sure you raffle off something really nice- I hate it when all you win is a slab of chocolate wrapped with a ribbon.

Fourth...
Boy's invited?
It is becoming more common for the guys to be invited to baby showers, so feel free to extend the invite out to all partners and parents. What we do suggest is have something for the guys to do- let them braai or watch the sports- most of the men won't play the games and feel quiet out of their comfort zone around all the "baby talk".

Fifth...
Have a gift registry.
Your guests want to spoil the mom to be, so give them some guidance on what you would like.
Every mother is so different in the products they use and there are so many different products on the market. Make sure you get the gifts you really want and need!

With these five things in mind, you are set to have a great baby shower, Good luck!
